of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a 1 notable horn between his eyes. P 6 And 2 HE came to the RAM that had two horns, which I had seen standing be- fore the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. P 7 And I saw 2 HIM come close unto the RAM , and he was moved with 3 choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ramto standbefore him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. P The promise of Alexander the Great’s death and the division of his Grecian empire by four of his generals (Fulfilled - 323 BC) 8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the 4 great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the 5 four winds of heaven. P The promise of an evil Grecian ruler to arise (Antiochus Epiphanes - a picture of the Anti-Christ to come) (Fulfilled - From 175-164 BC) 9 And out of one of them came forth a 6 little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land . P 10 And 6 it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; 7 and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. P 11 Yea, 6 he magnified himself even to the 8 PRINCE OF THE HOST , 9 and by him the 10 daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was cast down. PP 12 9 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. P 13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint
which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice , and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trod- den under foot? 14 And he said unto me, Unto 11 two thou- sand and three hundred days; 12 then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. P Daniel interprets the vision 15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the 13 vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. 16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. 17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. 18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be . 20 The 14 RAM which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the 15 ROUGH GOAT is the king of Grecia: and the 16 great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. P 22 Now that being 17 broken, whereas 18 four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but 19 not in his power. P 23 And in the latter time of their king- dom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a 6 king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. P The promise of a “future” Antichrist (Fulfilled - Rev 6:1,2 & 13:1-6) 24 And his power shall be mighty, 20 but

Two years later in 331 BC Alexander faced Darius the III again, this time at Gaugmela, just 60 miles north of Arbela. By the time the day was over, Alexander handed Darius and his armies a final and decisive blow, putting an end to Medo- Persian rule ( but he cast him down to the ground ). 8:8 Having traveled over 11,000 miles by the year 323 BC, Alexander the Great had become strong , conquering much of the civilized world for Greece. 8:16 Gabriel’s name means “hero of God.” Gabriel appeared to four different people in the Bible: Daniel (Dan 8:16 & 9:21,26); Zacharias (Lk 1:11,19); Mary (Lk 1:26-27); and Joseph (Mt 1:20). 8:22 After Alexander the Great’s death, four of his generals divided up his empire into four kingdoms - Fulfilled: Syrian kingdom ; Egyptian kingdom ; Macedonian kingdom ; and Asia Minor kingdom (Dan 7:6).
