of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. P 7 9 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. P 8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; 9 and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. P 9 9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed. P A song of praise to Jehovah 10 9 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the GARMENTS OF SALVATION , he hath coveredme with the 12 robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. P 11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; 9 so the LORD GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. P

61:2 This MESSIANIC prophecy was quoted by CHRIST in Luke 4:18-19 – but only in part. After reading up to this part ( To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD ), He closed the scroll in the synagogue at Nazareth and made no mention of “the day of vengeance of our God” (His Second Coming). He did this for the simple reason that He is coming twice. The first time He came He came as a LAMB in order to save men (Jn 1:29). The second time He comes He comes as a LION in order to judge men. CHRIST will judge the world in righteousness for the same reason He judged the world twice before – the world united against Him; the clay decided to “dictate” to the Potter how things should be (Gen 6:1-7/II Pet 2:5), and mankind, as a whole, became “one” against God (Gen 11:1-9/Rev 18:1-8). And now it’s happening again. There is a push in the world today, like never before, to become a “global” community, and Satan is quickly accomplishing that goal through the redistribution of wealth (Rev 13:16-18).
He knows that in order to unite humanity he must bring about “globalization.” There are seven infinitives that chronologically describe CHRIST’S ministry: 1. To preach good tidings (proclaim the Gospel – Lk 9:1-6) Getting people the Gospel is mentioned first because this was what Christ came to do (Lk 19:10). 2. To bind up the brokenhearted (fix broken lives – Lk 23:39-43 and Jn 4:1-26 & 8:1-11) Your life may be broke here, but it doesn’t have to be broke in the hereafter.
3. To proclaim liberty to the captives (set men free spiritually –Isa 42:6-7 & 49:8-9 and Jn 8:32-36) 4. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD (to fulfill His calling as the promised Messiah) 5. To proclaim the day of vengeance (Christ’s Second Coming – Mt 25:31-46 and Rev 19:11-21) 6. To comfort all that mourn (during the Millennium – Mt 5:3-4) 7. To appoint and to give unto them that mourn beauty for ashes (to exchange sadness for gladness – Mt 5:5-10) NOTE – The author(s) of the Dead Sea Scrolls attribute this verse, which speaks of Yahweh judging, to Melchizedek ( Gen 14:18a ) thereby identifying him as Yahweh God ( JEHOVAH ). 61:10 Salvation is not your (self ) righteousness ( Gen 3:7 ) but you allowing God to cover your sin with CHRIST’S righteousness ( Gen 3:21 , Lev 7:8 , Zech 3:4 and Mt 22:11 ), that is, salvation is receiving the imputed righteousness of God Himself ( Gen 22:8a and Rom 4:1-6).
