ISAIAH 25:2

ISAIAH 26:9

1078

10 For in this 3 MOUNTAIN shall the hand of the LORD rest, 1 and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. P 11 1 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands. P 12 1 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust. P Isaiah 26 The promise of a Kingdom where 1 1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; 11 salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. P 2 1 Open ye the 12 gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. P 3 1 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. P 4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: 5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bring- eth it even to the dust. 6 The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy. 7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. 8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. 9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I CHRIST will rule (Fulfilled - Rev 20:4,6) (Note - This portion of Isaiah’s prophecy took place in the 16th year of King Hezekiah’s reign) Date Written - c. 711 BC/AM 3289

thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. 2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. The promise of a Kingdom where 3 1 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. P 4 1 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. P 5 1 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the 2 branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low. P 6 1 And in this 3 MOUNTAIN shall the 4 LORD OF HOSTS make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. P 7 1 And he will 5 destroy in this 3 MOUNTAIN the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. P The promise of a resurrected body for OT saints; to wipe away Israel’s tears during the Millennium (Fulfilled - Rev 20:4 & 21:4) 8 6 He will 7 swallow up death in victory; 8 and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; 1 and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. PP P 9 1 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our 9 GOD ; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the 10 LORD ; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. P CHRIST will rule (Fulfilled - Rev 20:4,6)

25:2 The “ city ” here is representative of every world power that has ever opposed the righteousness of God’s Kingdom (Rev 18). 25:3 Isaiah looks to a time of great joy during the Millennium in which the people on earth will experience an unprecedented peace as a result of the intervention of God Himself (vs 6). 25:6 The “ LORD OF HOST ” here is referring to GOD THE FATHER . Interestingly enough, both the FATHER and the SON will co-reign together to rule in the 1000-year Millennium Kingdom, which is to come ( Rev 11:15 ). 25:8 Immediately after the Second Coming of CHRIST , God will set up His own Kingdom at which time the nation of Israel will be restored (Dan 7:9-12 and Ezk 37), unparalleled peace will be experienced (Isa 25:8 & 30:19 & 35:10 & 65:19, Mt 5:4 and Rev 7:17), and OT saints will be resurrected and rewarded ( Rev 20:4 a ). 26:1 Called “Isaiah’s Little Apocalypse,” chapters 24-27 look beyond the immediate judgment of the surrounding nations to the future time of universal judgment (vs 20-21), which is to be followed by the universal blessing of the coming Millennial Kingdom (vs 1-19). Here in verse 1 Isaiah begins with a song of praise, much like he did in chapter 25. He then goes on to describe some of the characteristics of the Millennial Kingdom (vs 2-3,9-12,15).
