The sound of many harps

‘And I heard a sound from heaven...It was like the sound of many ha rpists playing together.’ (Rev 14:2)

John tells us the number was 144,000 harpists/worshipers on Mount Zion. The sound of this number of harps (guitars) and the resulting overtones would dominate the physical and spiritual atmosphere. Our corporate spiritual song permeates the entire spirit, mind and emotions of the worshiper immersing us in a sound-wall of praise and adoration. ‘And then I heard eve ry creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power…”’ (Rev 5:13) Every song of the bird, call of the animals and sounds of the deep have been elevated into a harmonious sound of corporate praise in heaven. The groans of fallen creation are now transformed by grace into their own place in God’s symphony of worship. The sound spectrum is being filled but it seems to have an endless capacity.
