Consequences of Human Sin
The other factor of indirect shaking is the consequences of
human sin. Paul wrote in Romans 6:23 “the wages of sin is
death [destruction]. ” Sin is its own judgment. Paul also wrote
that man will “reap what he sows.”
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Gal. 6:7-8)
In his letter to the Roman church, Paul gives a powerful
description of sin bringng indirect shaking:
Therefore God gave them over i n the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also
