The Shaking of Nations - A Harvest Tsunami Is On Its Way....

Sometimes God does directly bring correction and punishment

to people, and to nations, that continually, flagrantly break His

laws. God has allowed man free will; but He has not abdicated

His ultimate governing of humanity. We are free to choose to

break God’s laws — but we are not free to avoid the

consequences.

When God in His timing steps in and brings correction, it

usually is harsh for the recipients. The Old Testament is full of

such examples, because the focus under the Old Covenant

was divine law. And yet, God in incredible ways still extended

mercy and grace — foreshadowing forgiveness through the

blood of Jesus Christ, as pictured in the sacrificial system

instituted under Moses. (Heb. 9:22).

But the sending of Jesus Christ began a new season, offering

spiritual and social restoration for mankind — based on grace,

not on law. God is still free to directly intervene when such

intervention is called for; but for the most part, today God

moves through indirect shakings. He simply allows the

consequences of our sins to catch up with us. 7

7 I am not overlooking the biblical reality that as we approach the time of Antichrist, in the last days of this age, God will again directly shake people and nations. But that is not the purview of this book.
