addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make lig ht of the Lord’s discipline and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son.” (Heb. 12:5-6)

A father does not teach a spiritual child to pray for an easy life

but for wisdom and strength to deal with what comes. The

spiritual parent and child walk through struggles together and

help each other realize God is working at building character and

faith through the strains, pains and stresses of life. Jesus knew

the hard things coming would scatter His disciples but He

simply told Peter, “I have prayed for you and you will come

through this.”

It is encouraging to know that God will send amazing spiritual

parents to restore His struggling people with a heart of love and

wisdom. As the spirit of Elijah arises in the church, we will see

these spiritual fathers and mothers step forward and pay the

price in time, patience and great faith to parent difficult

backslidden spiritual children to spiritual maturity.

As these spiritual parents reveal to their children Father God’s

heart and identity, and His inheritance for them, powerful

transformations will happen. Through thousands of such

transformed lives we will see the revival and restoration of the

church. Through a renewed church will come the spiritual light
