the kingdom of heaven becomes available through a relationship with the God of love. 38

The New Testament believer must always be aware of the fact

that he or she is speaking for God - it is vital that they reflect

the heart and will of God to others. To misrepresent God or to

distort His heart or will towards those we are sent to is

extremely serious. To share God’s word in anger or to

manipulate or with hatred in our heart is a false representation

of the Lord. We must be sure we are bringing God’s word

directly out of our relationship — our forgiveness, our

brokenness and our transformed life to be authentic and true.

Ultimately God must trust His prophetic messenger and he or

she must trust God. This is built up over time, with God and the

believer building a close relationship. As we find God faithful in

all He does in our life, and as God finds His prophet faithful in

revealing His loving heart to those He gives His words to, we

experience a deep, profound, and mutual trust.

There are many things to learn in moving in the gift and ministry

of prophecy and we cannot go into all of them here. But let me

end this chapter with the obvious: Prophetic ministry is vital to
