The Shaking of Nations - A Harvest Tsunami Is On Its Way....

Tell the Whole Truth

This whole idea of suffering for Jesus seems to fly in the face

of much of the popular preaching we hear today in churches.

Many congregations are being told that Christian life is the path

to self-fulfillment, and the way to gaining whatever we need.

It is true that God will take care of His people’s needs, and that

serving the Lord will bring the fulfillment of living out our life’s

purpose. But such teaching must go on to tell the whole story

of our Christian commitment, or it becomes a half truth. Trusting

Christ as our savior does not ensure pain-free living.

Life brings difficult challenges to everyone. And God is there to

help us through them — but not always to get us out of them.

The plain truth is that we grow in times of trials more than we

do in times of blessings. We need both.

Too often, mainstream preaching glosses over our position as

God’s servants , and His right to use us as best advances His

kingdom.

Peter writes –

It was to this that God called you, for Christ himself suffered for you and left you an example, so that you would follow in His steps (1 Peter 2:21).
