The Shaking of Nations - A Harvest Tsunami Is On Its Way....
I have already identified the Feast of Pentecost as the Jewish
celebration of the first fruits of harvest — clearly associated with
the early rains. As New Testament believers we can recognize
that Pentecost represents the early fruits of the first outpouring
of the Holy Spirit, launching the beginning of the harvest. Yet,
if we see prophetic truths in the celebrations of Passover and
Pentecost, can we not also see prophetic truth in the Feast of
Tabernacles?
The Feast of Tabernacles commemorates the 40 years Israel
lived in tents in the wilderness (as God decreed in Numbers
14:33-34) and how God provided for the nation during those
wanderings. It is also known as the Feast of Sukkot (Lev. 23:40
43). Israel was to celebrate this festival by building temporary
booths to live in for seven weeks each year, as a reminder of
the 40 years in the wilderness. There were two parts to the start of the observance: 14
• A priest carried water from the pool of Siloam to the
Temple, symbolizing that when the Messiah comes, the
whole earth will know God “as the waters cover the sea”
(Isa. 11:9).
