Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
strongholds that hung over the city like a black storm cloud. God was breaking through!
Knowing there is power in taking Communion, we took Communion three times a day for the next few days. We discovered the elements to take Communion could be a variety of things that represented the broken Body and the shed Blood of Jesus Christ and His Victory on the Cross. After several Communion services, we found ourselves taking Communion with the only elements available to us in the compound. Stale hot dog buns were used for His Body and red Gatorade was used for His Blood. I played my guitar for hours on end and we sang every worship song I knew how to play or even partially knew. For hours, we worshiped the Lord in spirit and truth. On the third day we were under guard at the TBN compound, we felt a release from the Lord to venture outside the compound and do what we were sent to Haiti by God to do. It was time to open wide the gates of the compound and venture out into the streets and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This was our mission. This was our calling. This was our heavenly mandate. As we moved toward the entrance of the compound, our attention was drawn to an inner office where the three missionaries had recently been murdered. The bullet holes were still in the office wall. I will testify here those elements work as we remembered and symbolized what Jesus had done for us.
