Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

As we looked around and surveyed all the paddy wagons, we pretty much decided, “This is it. They are finally going to arrest us and put us in jail.” Nevertheless, about 100 of us crowded into the middle of the street and began to lift up Jesus once again. I strummed my guitar and led us all in worship. “I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You,” I began to sing and lead our group. The singing began to permeate the atmosphere. I scanned the area looking at the police, the paddy wagons and hundreds of revelers crushing up on us. As we had done a few days earlier on the pier at Mallory Square, the Lord led me to have all our team bow down upon our knees in the middle of Duval Street in front of Sloppy Joes. I continued playing guitar and we continued singing. Down on our knees with voices lifted and hands lifted up into the air, we continued singing, “I give You praise, for You are my righteousness… I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You!” A Holy Hush fell over the crowd. Although there were hundreds of people in the street, police officers all around and it was almost midnight on Halloween, suddenly you could have heard a pin drop. Denny Nissley stepped off the curb, waded into the middle of Duval Street and began to lift up a prayer. Denny has a very loud and powerful street preaching voice. But at this moment, he prayed softly but powerfully as the Fantasy Festival paid full attention. God was moving powerfully.
