Denny prayed for those who were away from God. He prayed for sinners to repent and turn to Jesus. He prayed for grace and mercy to sweep over the crowd and for lost souls to open their hearts to the Love and Forgiveness of Jesus.

He closed his prayer with a heartfelt, “In Jesus

Name, Amen.”

The quietness of the crowd was surprising and disarming. I was thinking to myself as I once again surveyed the scene with police paddy wagons surrounding us, “This is it. This is where they arrest us. We are about to go to jail.” Suddenly, one distinguished man who I guessed was a police detective, flanked by a Key West policeman on each side, made a beeline straight for me. I was preparing to be cuffed and taken away. After all, they had a few paddy wagons to fill. But God had other plans. As the gentleman I thought was a detective approached me with two policemen alongside, he held out his hand toward me. I noticed he had one hand outstretched to shake mine, and in his other hand was a business card. I stretched my hand toward him and shook his hand. Although I thought we were being arrested, to my surprise he asked me, “Where are you going from here?” Surprised, I answered, “Our outreach is over. We are headed back to the church tonight, then after service in the morning we all go back home.” He handed me his business card and said, “I’m Kevin Spivey. I am acting City Manager for Key West.” He motioned toward the police and paddy wagons
