Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
Kenneth Hagin’s Rhema Bible College together in Oklahoma. Kazu was a special young man, anointed of the Lord, who had joined the mission trip to Sendai to be our driver, interpreter, and preacher of the Gospel. There is no way we could have done this trip without Kazu. On our way to Sendai, we connected with a great young man in Tome named Brock Kreitzburg. Tome was near Minamisanriku, a coastal town that had been completely destroyed by the tsunami. There was absolutely nothing left of Ninamisanriku. Brock was the director of a Samaritan’s Purse base that was set up in a huge tent where volunteers had come to help restore the area. They sent out workers every day to clear homes of debris and minister to the people who were struggling to put their lives back together. One herculean task they were involved with was helping to clean out and help in the rebuilding of an elderly home care facility. Brock invited us to stay with them in Tome and minister from their Samaritan’s Purse base for a few days. It was heartbreaking to see the ruins from the tsunami, but the Japanese people are very strong-willed and determined. They worked hard to get their lives back on track. While we were ministering in Minamisanriku with Brock and the Samaritan’s Purse team, we were only a little over two hours from the Fukishima nuclear power plant that had melted down following the recent earthquake and tsunami. We went into areas where five-story buildings were torn apart as if they were toy structures. I remember seeing one four story building that had a car on top of it that had been lifted by the tsunami waters and left atop this building.
