One of the guards wanted to search the entire bus. He may have wanted to fine us for bringing toys into his country to give to little children who may not have even owned a toy. The other guard kept stating our case to the one that was not wanting us to go through. After what seemed like an eternity the guards said we were free to go and waved us through the border crossing! God heard our prayers. The funny thing is, Bobby has always had a theory that he calls “the green light theory.” He says that because in the Bible God has already told us to GO then we should just keep going until He gives us a red light. Well, we couldn’t believe what happened next! Our friend and team member, Carlos Salazar, was driving his van with some of his friends to caravan with us to Tijuana! Carlos is a schoolteacher in Los Angeles and loves soulwinning. When Carlos approached the border, he suddenly saw a red light ! All Carlos could think of was Bobby’s green light theory! He freaked out for a moment and just gunned the accelerator. We were in shock. We could hear the alarms going off, but they didn’t pursue the van! Carlos was nervous about going back across the border. Of course, the guys were teasing him the entire time we were in Tijuana. We always provided presents for the children. It was sobering for us, as Americans, to realize that the one gift they received from us was the only present they would receive not only for Christmas but probably the only gift they would receive until we returned the next year.

We did toy drives to gather the toys for the kids in Tijuana. We were so happy to have been able to gather
