We weren’t sure whether to be mad at him or to be proud of him for thinking of someone other than himself. Probably a little mad and a little proud! Preachers ’ kids go through a lot. You don’t realize the sacrifices they make whether they are willing participants or not. I was emotionally devastated for our kids losing some of their favorite things that God had blessed them with. I’m not quite sure Ronnie ever realized what he did was wrong, but he eventually stopped taking things from our girls to give away. Christmas time was fast-approaching, and we didn’t have much money we could spend on gifts for family and friends or each other. I loved to make fancy chocolates using molds for special occasions. So, it was decided, I would make chocolates for our family and friends as their Christmas gifts. I had been working on them for three weeks. They were very detailed with chocolate and had green holly leaves and red berries. Very intricate and made with a lot of love for those that I loved so dearly. I began to notice that there were some pieces of chocolate missing. Of course, with children in the house, I began to wonder if my girls had eaten the beautiful chocolate candy I had made. That wasn’t like my girls at all. They would not have done that. One day I came home and almost all the chocolate was GONE! And then I heard Ronnie moaning and looked up to see him holding his belly! He looked at me and said “I couldn’t help it. They looked so good, and I couldn’t stop eating them .” Honestly, I told him I was glad his stomach hurt that he should not take things that didn’t
