Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
quite certain they threw his old clothes into a trash can far away from the house.
After Ronnie’s shower I could not help but notice Ronnie’s skin wasn’t as dark as I had always thought. With layers of dirt gone from his body Ronnie looked so different. I also noticed that something wonderful had happened to Ronnie…he was a changed man! Once dinner was over Bobby was trying to figure out next steps for Ronnie. We prayed. God needed to direct our steps and Ronnie’s steps as He promises He will in the Bible. You won’t believe what happened next. I can’t believe it myself. There was a print shop set up in the back of The Oasis building where Bobby would print Gospel tracts on the offset printing press. He decided he would take Ronnie to the print shop, and they would sleep there on the floor of the print shop that night. There’s more… Two of our three beautiful little girls went with Bobby to “camp out” in the print shop! They were only five and seven at the time (Molly and Emily). They thought it was such a great campout with their Daddy! They already knew Ronnie. One great memory of that night for Bobby was when, late in the night, in the print shop Ronnie looked at Bobby and said, “Not bad for a couple of hobos!” Bobby loves that memory of Ronnie. You have probably guessed by now that Ronnie ended up moving in to the HGRS staff house with all of us. Oh, what an experience! We would not change it if we could. We loved Ronnie and he loved all of us. Ronnie
