Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

group had just burned down over 200 homes of Christian leaders and their parishioners. We wanted to get in and out of Zamboanga as quick as possible. That night, at King Jesus Christian Fellowship, I saw church like I had never seen it before. The pure and open worship unto the Lord the precious people were displaying was such a blessing. Even the children raised their hands and sang heartfelt songs unto the Lord. We were so blessed to be in fellowship with this great church and the entire Deita family. A very special bond and friendship was born among us as we all desired to lift up Jesus in the Philippines. Very early the next morning, I was awakened to the sound of roosters crowing throughout the neighborhood. But I was so blessed, because I also heard sweet, angelic worship songs being sung acapella by the KJCF Bible College students who were up early worshiping the Lord. I just laid in my bed and was swept away in the Spirit as they sang and worshiped Jesus. I’m sure the Heavenly Choir will sound like these Bible College students who were sold out for the Lord. Our ministry team only had one more day in the Philippines before we started our long trek back to the USA. Pastor Gerson told us we had an opportunity to go minister to the prisoners at the local jail if we wanted to before we left Kabasalan. We jumped at the chance. Jesus’ words to His disciples, “I was in prison and you visited me ,” stirred in our hearts. When we got to the local jail, we were a little taken aback by the crowded and sweltering conditions. This jail had iron bars in front with the prisoners practically sitting on top of each other. The tropical heat was stifling.
