Pastor Kelly immediately talked to these brave men as they were part of an international brotherhood.
These men’s jobs were to go street to street and recover the bodies. We prayed for them and with them and lifted their spirits with our prayers and encouragement. We spent the next few days ministering in what had been hell on earth. God gave us tremendous favor with Tacloban’s leadership, Mayor Alfred and Cristina Romualdez. This great couple love the Lord and God used them powerfully during this crisis. We met with them and their staff at the mayor’s office in Tacloban and prayed over them for strength, Godly wisdom and strategy and they led Tacloban out of this great tragedy. Thank God for His favor. Finally, our team headed back to the airport in Tacloban so we could venture further south and minister at King Jesus Christian Fellowship in Kabasalan. When we got to the airport, we were met by many families and friends we had ministered to. Joan’s sister, Cherry, was there. She had received the Lord when we prayed for her family. She hugged us all and through tears welling up in her eyes she implored, “Don’t forget about us!” One of the officials at the Tacloban airport took a four-foot steel rod with a Filipino flag attached that was flying atop the airport and gave it to me, almost like presenting a runner a trophy at the end of a long race. That flag quickly became one of my most prized mementos from my ministry around the world. Our hearts were stirred as we boarded the plane to Zamboanga City in Mindanao. This area is predominantly Muslim extremists who are hostile to Christians. A few days before we arrived there, a militant
