Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
Haiyan. I saw pictures of more devastation than I had ever seen in one place.
I saw pictures of young children, drenched by the floodwaters, holding up a sign for the world to see that read, “HELP! We Need Food!” I saw pictures of a congregation in a Filipino church having service and praising the Lord, standing in knee-deep water that had flooded their primitive sanctuary. I read where thousands of people in the Philippines were missing since the storm and there was no way to get to their homes to confirm they were missing or perhaps had been killed, drowned by the ferocious storm waters. Shocked, I read Dot a few of the headlines regarding Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and we prayed for the people there, asking God to give them a miracle. God, please spare these precious people from the deadly ravages of Typhoon Haiyan. Sunday morning was glorious at Trinity Lighthouse Church. Gwen England had led the worship team in a very moving time, lifting up praises and worship to Jesus. The presence of the Lord was in the house. Pastor Raymond greeted the crowd and exhorted them in the Lord as he always did. The air was full of excitement and anticipation of what the Lord was going to do in the service. When Pastor Raymond called me up to the platform, I took my guitar, and I sang a few street ministry-style songs, and the congregation was eagerly clapping and singing along. What happened next was totally unexpected.
