Chapter 16 The Philippines – Typhoon Haiyan

I t was a late Saturday night in November 2013. Dot and I were sitting in our hotel in Denison, Texas.

We had just flown into Dallas from Los Angeles and we were excited to, once again, be ministering at Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison, pastored by our longtime friend, Pastor Raymond England. Trinity Lighthouse Church was the very first church in Texas that I was invited to preach at when Dot and I first started street ministry in Hollywood, CA, back in 1981. So, we have a lot of history with them. He and his wife, Sister Brenda, have such a great work of God. Their daughter, Gwen England, lead the worship team and they always brought heaven down with their anointed praise and worship. When we first ministered with them in 1981, they had a church near town in Denison. Because God was doing a sovereign move and the congregation was growing so fast, Trinity Lighthouse Church built a new, much larger building, just off the very busy Highway 75 and Spur 503. I sat down at the desk at the hotel, and I got my Bible and notebook out to brush up a little on the message the Lord had given me that I would be preaching at their two services on Sunday morning. I had my laptop with me and as I opened it, I was immediately drawn into a breaking news story that popped up on the screen.
