Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

look like they really fit in with the rest of the crowd on Skid Row. They must have been newly homeless.

Bobby and I exchanged glances. We knew the coat had been specifically purchased for this child. He had no coat, and he was cold. Bobby went to the car to get the coat and brought it back. It was the perfect size for this little boy. God cared so much about him that he had our friend, Heidi, buy him a coat before we ever met him. God always knows what we have need of even before we know it! At one of our Super Saturday Skid Row events there was a man that was a little boisterous. He was a little pushy and demanded to know “ Who is in charge ” of the event. None of us spoke up. Bobby told him there were a few of us in charge. That answer would not do. He demanded to know exactly who was in charge. Bobby finally said, “ Well, I guess that would be me.” We did not know what direction this conversation was headed. We didn’t know if he had a complaint, if he wanted us to give him a ride, or if he wanted us to get him a hotel room. We had absolutely no idea what he wanted. He got a smile on his face and told Bobby he had something for him. This man pulled out a dirty sock and reached inside of it and brought out two one-dollar bills. He stretched his hand toward Bobby and said, “I want to pay my tithes.” We just about needed to pick our jaws up off the ground. It was so amazing to see this homeless man on Skid Row pull his tithe money out of a dirty sock and want to bless us with it for the ministry we were doing.
