Thank God, Brian was right. The plane took off and we arrived on time back in Jakarta. We all got our bags and headed toward the door. To my surprise when we got to the door, there was Brother Donny’s wife, Preicyllia, welcoming us back home. She had a big smile, and, in her hands, she was holding a beautiful cake. I asked her what the cake was for, and she told me it was a cake celebrating our release and welcoming us back. I had never tasted a “ celebration for being released from arrest ” cake before but this cake was particularly celebratory. God had been so faithful to us. When we got back to the White House in Jakarta, Pastor Steve and Detty’s parsonage, there had been detectives at their door with questions about the church, who all lived there and especially they asked, “Where did the Bibles come from that had been given out in Padang Pariaman .” The next morning Pastor Steve took us to the airport in Jakarta for our flight back to the USA. To me, the thought of being back in the land of the free and the home of the brave was exciting. But God had one more surprise for us, As we were in the airport, we saw newspapers from Jakarta that had articles about our disaster relief team. A nationwide news source had done an article that talked about our team and actually printed John 3:16 in the articles. One of the articles I read said, “This humanitarian relief team from America came to Indonesia under false pretenses. They said, “For God so loved the world He gave
