Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

Bible still opened to John 3:16 and said to the crowd, “Have her read this.”

As they handed the Bible to the woman who could not see, she very clearly began to read aloud in Bahasa, “For God so love the world… that He gave His only begotten Son…that whosoever believes in Him… should not perish… but have everlasting life.” People in the crowd began to shout, “She can see!” She can see!” Thank God for opening the eyes of those who cannot see and allowing them to see clearly, reading and understanding His great love. And understanding the Gift of Jesus Christ. After this, Rudy and the team were almost stampeded by the crowd suddenly wanting to have their own copies of the Bible, God’s Word. Most of the people in the crowd had never seen a Bible and many of them had never heard of Jesus. As the villagers, most of whom had lost their homes and were displaced to sleep on the streets under tarps, crowded around our team to hear more about Jesus, we continued singing and preaching. We suddenly realized, the area where we had been singing and preaching… the area where the woman could suddenly see and read the Bible, was in front of a destroyed building that had previously been a Muslim mosque. We had been singing, preaching, giving away food and Bibles and seeing miracles right out in front of a Mosque that had been leveled by the earthquake.
