So once again, I grabbed my guitar and got a few of our team members around me and we began to lift up Jesus in this dark area of Padang. “Lord, I lift Your Name on high. Lord, I love to sing Your praises.” As we sang the Spirit of the Lord was cutting through the spiritual darkness in the area. Some people had gathered, and a few were clapping their hands along with us and smiling. Our Jesus Team… Brother Donny, Bill, Rudy, Roy, Brian, and Pastor Steve Laidlow began passing out food packets along with Gospel tracts and Bibles. People were hungry to receive. Along the perimeter of the crowd though, I noticed several men who were looking sternly at our Gospel tracts and Bibles we were giving out. They were conversing with each other with a visible displeasure. We continued to sing, “I worship You, Almighty God. There is none like You. I worship You, oh Prince of Peace…” Many of the villagers began to circle around us, listening to our songs and curious about who we were and why we had come from America. As Rudy was ministering to people in the crowd, they brought a woman to him and said, “She can’t see.” As the Lord led him, Rudy did something that would set an example for outreaches in the future. He took one of the Bahasa Bibles we were passing out and he opened it to John 3:16. Then he took a yellow highlighter pen and underlined John 3:16. He gave the
