Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

We were excited about all God had done in Pariaman, but we were saddened at the site of the Australian military and local men digging and searching for remains of loved ones who were swallowed up in the mud from the landslides. The next morning, we all got up and had breakfast at the hotel. The breakfasts they served there were very sparse with just one egg and a few extras. Our guys had to order two or three breakfasts to be able to have enough fuel for the day. On this day, God was about to do something we had never experienced. He was about to use our team in ways beyond comprehension. We had no idea what was in store for us ahead as we prepared to return to Paraiman for another full day of ministry there. The next forty-eight hours would be life-changing for us, they were days we will never forget. The next forty eight hours would be indelibly etched into our memories and our hearts. When we went to Pariaman the day before, we had go in about three different vehicles. Today, we wanted to all go together and be able to take even more food and supplies to the people who were living and sleeping on the streets in the earthquake-damaged area. We rented a van from the local car rental company. In many foreign countries when you rent a vehicle it normally comes with a driver familiar with the local area, the rules, and regulations of the country. Also, it’s good to have a local driver who is used to driving on the wrong side of the road. Wrong to us because in the USA we drive on the right side of the road with the driver on the left side of the vehicle.
