Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
While the food and Bibles were being given out, I played my guitar, and we sang worship songs. There were a lot of Indonesian Military police in the area who watched us sing and lift up Jesus near the dig site. As I sang and we ministered, people all around were taking videos of us on their cell phone cameras. Many of them asked to pose for pictures with us. Even the police took pictures with our ministry team. I began to think that maybe the people thought we were like the Beatles, and they wanted their pictures with us. I’m sure most of them had never met men from America and England. We gladly posed with people and welcomed them taking videos. We figured if they took videos of us singing, preaching the Gospel, and lifting up Jesus that it would also be a witness for the Lord as they showed the videos to their friends and families. We discovered later these pictures and videos were taken for a specific purpose that we had never thought about in our wildest imagination. As Brian, Roy, Rudy, and our team handed out food and gave away Bibles, Bill announced to the crowd, “We are here to help you and tell you about how great our God is! We are here to tell you about Jesus.”
Someone in the crowd spoke up, “Do you mean
Allah?” Bill responded, “No ! GREATER than Allah.”
After a long day of ministry and disaster relief, we got in our vehicles and went back to Pariaman where we gathered at the hotel and had a time of prayer and fellowship.
