Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

carrying large automatic rifles stood guard in the bag claim area. These guards’ eyes were fixed on us, and they were surveilling us up and down. All thoughts of my vertigo and dizziness were gone as I was contemplating what might be in store next for us. Dot and I love the old hymn that says, “His eye is on the sparrow … and I know … He watches … me. ” We always know when we see sparrows it is a sign God is watching us… it is a sign He is with us, and we will never be forsaken. In the middle of this scene at the airport where we were being scrutinized by these military guards with weapons of war, I needed His reassurance. Even though the Yangon International Airport did not have large openings near the ceiling to the outside or large windows open to the outside, suddenly about half a-dozen sparrows began to flit and flutter around my feet. I almost broke out in laughter because I knew more than ever before, because His eye is on the sparrow, I know He watches me. I’m not exactly sure how what happened next came about. Possibly Jerry Davis had arranged it, but up ahead of us just before the exit door, an Asian man stood holding up a sign with our names on it.
