The Bible was so valuable and rare that each person could only have one page of the Bible. I thought of how things were back at home, where so many people who have so many Bibles, many of the Bibles are left to gather dust on a table. One of the first stops our tour bus made was at a very large train station in the city. The train station was beautiful, and the walls were actually covered in gold. It was truly a site to see. I thought of how it might be back in New York City or major cities in America, the gold on the subway walls would be stolen in a matter of minutes. There was no way the walls could be covered in gold. But I realized the population in Russia was in total submission to their government and the military. The Russian people did as they were told and as they were commanded. There was no freedom of movement or freedom of thought allowed. I decided to step out and see what might happen if I offered someone a Bible we had brought in to the country. The weather was cool and I was wearing a long overcoat. I had a few Bibles tucked inside my coat. I got the attention of a young family waiting for a train and I cautiously showed them a Bible I was offering them. When they realized I had a Bible and I wanted to give it to them, their eyes lit up. Moving in secrecy, I moved close to them and placed the Bible in their hands. They quickly put the Bible in one of their nearby bags and began to thank me
