8. Paul closes this chapter with the understanding that God is

going to restore his original purpose of bringing many sons

to glory and renew creation itself. Nothing will ever again

separate God from His “elected or predestined” family and

creation that he loves. (vss.28-39)

a. God is going to work all things “together” … that is make every

circumstance “partner” in accomplishing good for us.

But there are two qualifications: Vs.28

1) for those who love God 2) are called ( kletos : invited) according to his purpose.

b. Here in this chapter, we find Paul’s introducing the idea of

election or God’s sovereign will. God knew us from

eternity…and knew who would choose him and therefore He

predestined them (vss.29-30) to be conform (to make us like)

to the image of Jesus Christ… the first born of many brethren

(Jesus moving from the only begotten son (Jn.3:16) to the first
