2) Paul is highlighting those who do not have a proper or godly
perspective of themselves… and others in the church.
a) Paul calls on ever believer to get a “sober” (realistic) picture
of whom they are “in relationship to God and the rest of the
Church.” Part of continual renewal is to allow your thinking about
you and others in the body to be checked out.
Our Three Selves

Only one of these is truly us. The only way we become that self is by renewed and transformative thinking
The story of Adam Gen.3:7-10
# He hides himself: We cover ourselves with what we want
people to see (fig leaves).
# He was ashamed: There are parts of me I don’t want others to see.
God calling out “where are you?” God is trying to get Adam to tell
where he is at and stop hiding. This is a key to ongoing personal
and corporate renewal.
But Who Am I?
# Paul stresses in this verse that each member needs to recognize their “measure of faith.” Paul is essentially saying that each church members needs to discovery how God has gifted them to connect and serve in the body and how to exercise their faith to build the church up. (Read also 1Peter 4:10) # Paul points out that when we come into Christ, we are given gifts and need to grow in faith to operate those supernatural gifts to help build the church. # We become a necessary part of the church body that no one else
