“Our Redeemer lives! And we shall live also!”

“Jesus is the resurrection and the Life. To believe in

Him is to live eternally!”

“Christ has conquered the grave!”

“When we see Him, we shall be like Him, for we shall

see Him as He is!”

“We will see you, Peter and Paul, very soon!”

Finally, the two esteemed prisoners, weak and out of shape, stand with legs trembling and bodies sagging, but alive and breathing in the real air of the outside world.

“Oh . . . fresh air!” They gulp and gasp. “It tastes . . . so

good!”

With two soldiers supporting each prisoner, the final trek to execution begins. Together the prisoners shuffle and stumble forward, the clanging chains giving musical support to their quotations of assurance. As one, they mumble the heart-warming chant of Isaiah 43:1,2:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be
