How are we to do this if we have gone astray and away from this type of relationship? By returning to the simplicity of the secret place. The Lord Jesus Himself frequently returned to the secret place of simplicity. Matthew gives the account of this in Matthew 6. Even the Lord Himself, with all the things he was created to accomplish and all the peoples’ needs to tend to, re- tired from his complex lifestyle and returned to the simplicity of His faith, the secret place of simplicity, the place of prayer. No matter how busy we get, no matter how complex our society becomes, we must return to simplicity. As we do this, our spir- itual fervor will be restored. In our quest for truth, doctrine, and methods, we have lost the greatest truth, the greatest doctrine, and the greatest method which can be summarized in one word: SIMPLICITY. Finally, it is important for us to remember and praise God for his goodness and faithfulness in small and significant life events. It is important that we reflect on how God used the event to grow and transform us. D. Rebuilding ALTARS Unto the Lord In reading and teaching different books of the Bible, it is apparent that the patriarchs had a certain common denominator in their lives: they all built altars unto the Lord.
