God's Prophetic People
Mount Carmel was the place where Elijah confronted and defeated the prophets of Baal. It was where God intervened on his behalf, showing His power in a mighty way. There, Elijah witnessed the transcendence of God — the divine presence and authority that surpassed all human understanding. And it was on that mountain that Elijah heard the still, small voice of the Lord, speaking in a way that pierced through the chaos and spoke directly to his heart. eyes had not been opened to the things in the spirit realm. This servant saw the army which had surrounded them during the night and was filled with fear. Elisha responded to his servant in a way which we should all pay attention to. He said to him: “So he answered, ‘Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ And Elisha prayed, and said, ‘LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’ Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (2 Kings 6:16 -17). As many of us look around, we may not see the kingdom of God fully represented. We may see the deep darkness around us, yet we must keep in mind that there are more with us than with those who are in the darkness.
