God's Prophetic People
as we continue along God’s pathway for our lives, and secure a place for others to seek refuge when the storms of life blow.
B. Daniel (Daniel 10) Daniel understood the things of the spirit. As he prayed, the Lord moved angels on his behalf. Daniel had a prophetic perspective. In Daniel 5:12, the Bible speaks of Daniel in the following way: “Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.” Daniel lived in a Babylonian culture, yet kept himself separated unto the Lord. This resulted in obtaining and maintaining a prophetic perspective. In Daniel chapter ten we see that political activities of occult forces were the work of actual historical personalities, the prince of Persia and Greece. Lord and received fresh revelation and perspective. It was upon the top of Mount Sinai that Moses received the Ten Commandments. It was on the top of the mountain where Moses was changed by God’s glory. In fact, the glory of the Lord was so bright that when Moses came down from the mountain, he had to wear a veil over his head because he shone so bright. It was at the mountain when he first met the Lord and developed a new perspective on life. C. Moses (Exodus 19-23) Moses periodically ascended up the mountain of the D. Elijah (1 Kings 18:41-46) On Mount Carmel, Elijah saw the cloud, no larger than a man’s hand. He recognized its significance, perceiving by the Spirit that this was just the beginning of something sudden and powerful. Elijah saw beyond the natural into the spiritual realm, with prophetic perspective and a divine understanding of God's plans. He told the king to prepare, for the rain was coming — and when it came, it came in torrents.
