God's Prophetic People
C. Our Perceived Reality All these different lenses influence what we do. They influence all of our interpretations and responses. People follow these lenses like the roads we drive on. We habitually follow these perceptions of reality and hardly ever deviate from them. Let’s take a look now on what it means to have a biblical perspective and why it is important for God prophetic people to possess this view. 1 Corinthians 13:12: “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” 2 Corinthians 4:17- 18: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” If we want to perceive things clearly and accurately, we must first and foremost immerse ourselves in the Bible. The Bible is the ultimate source of truth. It’s not about how we feel, what we think we see, or even what seems true to us in the moment — it's about what God's Word says is true. A. Scriptural Lens (Romans 12:2; Colossians 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21) 2 Peter 1:19- 21: “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” II. Biblical PERSPECTIVE (1 Corinthians 13:12; 2 Corinthians 4:17-18)
