God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power
God's Prophetic People
“The Church of Jesus Christ finds its life, energy, and fulfillment as it enthusiastically pursues God’s purposes which incorporates the following: relationship, reconciliation, reformation, renewal, and restoration. Heaven holds the key by which decisions governing earthly affairs are made; but we hold the key by which these decisions are implemented.” - Paul E. Billheimer, Destined for the Throne 12
God's purpose is therefore built into the essence of the Church and the Church is built into God's purpose (they are intrinsic, inseparable).
II. Vision (Proverbs 29:18) God’s prophetic people are a people of purpose, and being a people of purpose, they are a people who have vision for life.
Vision (Heb) Chazon To see, gaze at, behold, to
mentally perceive, to contemplate with pleasure the things of the future. To have vision is the act or power of seeing with the eyes. It is an unusual ability in for seeing what is going to happen. 13
“Vision for ministry is a clear mental image of a preferable future imparted by God to His chosen servants and is based upon an accurate understanding of God, self, and circumstances.” - George Barna 14
Godly vision is the divine ability to see into the future, to have foresight into something which is attainable through the grace of God.
