God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power

God's Prophetic People

I. THE Eternal PURPOSE OF GOD (Genesis 1:26-28; Job 36:5; Psalm 33:10,11; Proverbs 21:1-2; Isaiah 14:24; Acts 2:22-23; Romans 8:29-30)

Psalm 33:10-11, “The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.” Isaiah 14:24, “The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, ‘Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand…’” Grasping God's eternal purpose is the bedrock of your personal life vision and mission. It shapes the depth of your sacrifice and guides your philosophy. It determines the level of your commitment and influences your lifestyle. It is the center, the driving force that moves you, inspires you, and brings clarity to everything you are and do. The following analogy will illustrate these essential truths: God is like an architect. He sees in His mind an image of what He wants to lay out before it becomes a reality. Some say of the Trinity that the Father is the executive, the Son is the architect, and the Holy Spirit is the contractor. The Father thinks it, the Son says it, and the Holy Spirit carries it out. You see, God is the Divine Architect of a sovereign and eternal plan which he had in mind before time began. Out of God’s thoughts (mind) came the world, the covenants, the prophets, Jesus Christ, and the Church. God will accomplish what He desires to accomplish. Jeremiah 23:20 tells us: “The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.”
