God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power

God's Prophetic People

Purpose Defined:

To determine as some end or object to be accomplished; a settled resolution, a determination. Something a person sets before themselves as an object to be reached, obtained, or accomplished, an aim or intention. 4

Purpose (Grk) Prothesis

From pro “before” and thesis “a place,” thus, “a setting forth.” This word suggests a deliberate plan, a proposition, an advance plan, an intention, a design. 5

The Bible says in Proverbs 29:18 that a people who have no vision cast off restraint. They are not disciplined, have no focus in life, no direction, no real desire to accomplish anything great or significant. It is imperative that we not only know and understand what our purpose in life is, but we also start walking this purpose out. The following are some definitions of purpose taken from a few sources: 6
