mercies of God continuously lavished on us? Thanksgiving is a heart of gratitude unto the Lord for His goodness. The first song sung in the Tabernacle of David was a song of thanksgiving (2 Chronicles 16:7-8). d) A song of praise is a new song (Psalm 33:3, 40:3). These are songs which have not previously been sung. When the Lord Jesus Christ redeems your life from the pit, He puts a new song in your heart. The result of this new song is really supernatural. People will:

• See (acknowledge) • Fear (conviction) • Trust (faith in God)

2. Song of the Bridegroom (Psalm 22:22; Hebrews 2:12) The song of the bridegroom is a prophetic song in which the singer becomes a channel which the Lord uses in communicating His mind and heart to others. It is instruction coming by way of the Spirit. There are three aspects to this prophetic song (1 Corinthians 14:3). They are: a) Song of Encouragement (builds up): When the prophetic song comes, it actually lifts the spirits of others. It encourages the congregation of the Lord; it builds them up. b) Song of Exhortation (stirs up): When the prophetic song comes, it stirs the people of God. It shakes the people into new life. It challenges the congregation to respond in appropriate action. c) Song of Comfort (bind up): When the prophetic song comes forth, it brings comfort, love, and peace to those who are in times of
