Man's greatest and final enemy is death. 1 Corinthians 15:26. The above recorded miracles show forth God's present power and ultimate intention. It gives us a foretaste of the change to be experienced by the entire Church at Jesus' Second Coming. 4. WHAT DO THE SCRIPTURES TEACH OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE BODY? The Bible teaches that every human being that has died will be raised to life again, regardless of where and how the body was buried. John 5:28, 29; Revelation 20:12, 13. 5. WILL THERE BE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OUR FUTURE RESURRECTION AND THE RESURRECTIONS THAT ARE RECORDED UNDER QUESTION 2? Yes, there will be a significant difference. For instance, when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, a miracle of creation took place. Putrefaction had already begun in the corpse. The command of Jesus produced the miraculous reconstruction of the body cells. Lazarus, however, was only given another functional human body - which eventually died again. Jesus, on the other hand, came forth from the tomb with a different type of resurrection body. Rather than blood flowing through His body to sustain His life, the very Spirit of God moved through every cell and organ imparting the fullness of eternal life. This is why Jesus could appear and disappear and pass through solid walls in His resurrected body. Luke 24:31; John 20:19. This is the type of body that we will have in the 191
