LESSON 9: RESURRECTION LIFE FOR MAN'S BODY

NOTE: This is the last lesson in Section VII, "The Life and Ministry of the Holy Spirit." In this Section, we have traced the work of the Holy Spirit in all of the Christian's basic experiences with God. We now study the climax! Just as Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, was baptized with the Holy Spirit, etc., and was finally raised from the dead by the Spirit - so we too will reach the apex of the Spirit's work in our lives when we conquer death itself and are resurrected or translated! 1. WHAT IS A RESURRECTION? Resurrection is the raising of a dead body to life again. Obviously, this could only occur by Divine miracle. 2. DOE S THE BIBLE RECORD THAT ANYONE WAS EVER RAISED FROM THE DEAD? Yes, the Bible records the following resurrections: In the Old Testament: The Shunammite's son, 2 Kings 4:32-37. A Moabite man, 2 Kings 13:20-21. Moses, Deuteronomy 34:6; Luke 9:30; Jude 9. In the New Testament: Jairus' Daughter, Matthew 9:18-26; Mark 5:22-43; Luke 8:41-56. Widow's Son, at Nain, Luke 7:11-15. Lazarus at Bethany, John 11:1-44. Jesus Himself, Matthew 28:6; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:6; John 20 Saints buried in Jerusalem, Matthew 27:51-53. Peter raised Dorcas, Acts 9:36-42. NOTE: Although only the above mentioned resurrections are recorded in Gospels, there probably were others. Matthew 10:8. Also, it should be noted that
