Devout men every age have hungered to know the Name of the true and living God. In Eastern Lands a man's name and personality are synonymous and this is especially true in the Bible concept of God. GOD AND HIS NAME ARE ONE; therefore, His Name must be a self-expression of all that He is. The word "God" is not a name, but rather a simple title of Diety. There are many “gods” among the heathen; however, according to the Bible, there is only ONE true GOD. 1 Corinthians 8:5; Galatians 4:8. The ONE God of the Bible that reveals Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit has a three-fold Name of rich spiritual significance. Note again on pages 50-53: “Lesson 4: What is the Name of God?” B. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE FATHER? Exodus 3:13 and 14 is the basis for understanding the Father's name. The original Hebrew word used meant “I AM” – an expression which conveyed the underlying ever present nature of the true God.
