Freedom Meeting in Moscow, 1991 The crowd of about three hundred fifty to four hundred students from all over the USSR stood in the meeting hall listening with wide-open ears, minds, and hungry hearts. These were the students who were passionate enough to want to know what their prophetic destiny would be in taking the gospel to all the nations of the Soviet Union. They had gathered in this separate meeting hail for personal ministry to see if they would be chosen from about two thousand five hundred attendees at the crusade. They would be evaluated, interviewed, and confirmed as possible servant leaders of the campus ministries that would be established. After training to facilitate Bible studies and lead college campus churches, they would be prayed over and sent out with the equip ping of the Great Commandment: to love God with all their heart and to love all people as themselves, to reveal Jesus to every student on every campus, and to then make disciples of all. The preaching of the Good News had been illegal in Russia since the communist revolution, and atheism had been taught for seventy years. They lived in a godless society and a godless nation. Now the USSR was open to the preaching o f the gospel of Jesus Christ. The year was 1991 and we were finally there. We were sent, set in place as a ministry team, and firmly persuaded to bring a Jesus Revolution to the college campuses through those students gathered in Moscow from all over the Soviet Union. What an incredible time, place, and commission. What an honor! Thousands of students, hungry for God, heard the Good News of a loving Creator, most for the first time in their life. They met Americans who told them all about religious freedom and about other freedoms. They met these people who displayed joy, and peace and righteousness all free gifts from God.
