prophet, Jehu, Elijah, Nathan and David. The word came to the major and minor prophets who wrote Scripture as well as to noncanonical prophets who did not write Scripture. About others who had the same experience, this particular expression is not used, such as when "the prophet Gad said to David, 'Do not stay in the stronghold; depart, and go into the land of Judah"' (1 Samuel 22:5).
