I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made. Maturity by its very definition implies a constant and a steady growth. Sanctification is a process that began when we were born again in Christ Jesus and it will continue right up to the return of the Lord. …being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of J esus Christ… Philippians 1:6 Many people are looking for an instant cure for all of their difficulties. If people are led to believe that they can solve their problems by casting out a demon, chanting a certain phase or “mantra,” experiencing a particular type of prayer by a particular type of person, getting a prophetic word from the “man of God” or f asting certain foods, they will go through just about anything. People can run for this remedy or that remedy and never find what they are looking for because there is no instant cure for their problem. They are going to have to come through the “eye of the needle” which involves repentance from sin, denying themselves, putting on the armor of
