The Strand Study Bible
PROVERBS PROVERBS the radar” ( and hideth himself ). There are three things every “prepper” must do to properly “prep” for the inevitable: 1. Stay under the radar ( and hideth himself ) – People don’t need to know your personal business. This is why social media (like Facebook) is so destructive, especially during uncertain times. The wise man will understand the times that he is living in (I Chro 12:32), and during those times remain invisible . People (and especially the government) don’t need to know whether you are “prepping” or not. 2. Stay informed ( foreseeth the evil ) – People who understand the times gather intel so they can make informative decisions. Proper intelligence comes from those “in the know:” * Biblically speaking, I would check with God’s Word (and those who seem to understand it) on a daily basis (Prov 27:12) * Globally speaking, I would check with Behold Israel , Raptureready.com , and the Debka File , which keeps you up to date on Israel’s activities (Jesus did say to watch the Fig Tree, i.e., Israel – Mt 24:32 ) * Financially speaking, I would check with people like Gerald Celente, Peter Schiff, Ron Paul, etc. (John did say to watch for a global economic collapse, which is the Antichrist’s cue to “rescue” the world from its financial woes – Rev 13:16-18). 3. Be prudent (wise) enough to prepare for the inevitable – People who understand the days they are living in will “prep on the side” *owning a “bug out” bag (a back pack with all the essentials that you would need to take with you at a moments notice) – A “bug out” bag (back pack) should consist of: (1) water bottle (Life Straw/Katadyn bottle); (2) rain gear/poncho/hat/gloves; (3) flashlights (hands-free headlamp, hand-held crank, battery operated); (4) salvation packet (whistle, magnifying glass, mirror, lighter/matches, flat duct tape, knife/knife blade and sharpener, pliers, fingernail kit, emergency space blanket, reading glasses/sunglasses, ear plugs/tooth picks, three-in-one utensil); (5) first aid kit and booklet/survival booklet; (6) toiletries/ personal medications; (7) compass (in case of an EMP – electro magnetic pulse); (8) binoculars; (9) umbrella; (10) small plastic tarp; (11) self defense items (taser, pepper spray, handcuffs, handgun/ammo, large ties, large knife) *having a back-up plan (a place to go) if your current location is unsafe *owning a gun(s) - Benjamin Franklin once noted: Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. 2 NOTE – There are five rules concerning gun safety: - Never assume that a gun is unloaded Whenever handling a gun, YOU should always check for yourself to see if it is loaded or not. - Never place a round in the chamber… until you are ready to fire. A magazine-fed handgun is best. - Never use your safety If there is no round in the chamber, there is no need for the safety. Your safety is whether YOU know there is a round in the chamber or not. 22:6 It’s not that kids won’t “do” wrong. The idea behind this proverb is that, given the right training ( in the way he should go ), children won’t “go” wrong. The key word, of course, is “training.” According to the Bible (Prov 29:15, II Chro 33:10-12 and Eph 6:4 ), if fathers want their children to end up right, they must train them via: (1) the rod (affliction, nurture); and (2) reproof (admonition). NOTE – We don’t pick who our children become; they pick that for themselves (Gen 4:1-8). For sure, every parent hopes that their free-willed child will choose to follow them and their ideals, but that’s not how it works. Free will means exactly what it infers. The only promise God gives parents who have raised their kids for Him is that those kids will come around to what is right when they get old. Sadly, if their kids wait too long, they will have missed out on what they should have done in life (Eccl 12:1). 22:7 Regrettably, this is how our world operates –the rich (the Banksters) run ( ruleth ) the show. Now you would think that the American people would know this. However, they do not. Henry Ford once noted: It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning. 3 G. Edward Griffin in The Creature From Jekyll Island explains how the world’s central banks–the Federal Reserve being one of them–are catalysts for war. 4 Wars of course cost money, money nations don’t have. Therefore, nations are forced to borrow, until they (the borrower) become servant to the central banks (the lender; the Banksters). Without a doubt, the coming global collapse of the world’s markets is of Satan’s doing ( Lk 18:8 – point #5) and will result in the emergence of the antichrist (Rev 13:16-18). Aaron Russo’s documentary, called America: Freedom or Fascism , 5 portrays the same scenario. 1 Wilkerson, David. The Vision and Beyond , Lindale, TX, World Challenge Pub., 2003.
