5:8 According to I Chronicles 11:6 the “ whosoever ” here was Joab. 5:14 Nathan’s name means “gift.” He is referred to 1 time in the NT (Lk 3:31). Nathan was born c. 1015 BC. It would be through his seed (Mary - Lk 3:23-31) that the MESSIAH would be born ( Gen 3:15 a ).
