1 For, behold, the 1 DAY cometh, that shall burnas anoven; andall theproud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall 2 burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave themneither root nor branch. P 2 But unto you that fear my name shall the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS arise with healing in 1 HIS wings; and ye shall go forth, and 3 grow up as calves of the stall. 4:2 This phrase “ SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS ” is a figure of speech dipicting the person of CHRIST ( Gen 1:14a , 16 , Psa 84:11, Isa 60:19-20, Lk 1:77-78 and Rev 21:23 & 22:16). The physical is often a reflection of the spiritual ( Jere 14:1 ). Michael C. Bere in Bible Doctrines for Today notes:

It (i.e., the physical sun) is a dense mass of glowing matter, a million times the volume of the earth, and in a permanent state of nuclear activity. Every second, 4 million tons of hydrogen are destroyed in explosions that start somewhere near the core, where the temperature is about 55 million degrees Fahrenheit. Tongues of hydrogen flame leap from the sun’s surface with the force of a billion hydrogen bombs. They are forced up by the enormous thermonuclear explosion at the core of the sun, where 564 million tons of hydrogen fuse each second to form helium… The sun…is like a vast hydrogen bomb, burning slowing. 1

Our sun is glorious. It produces more energy in one second than man has used since the dawn of civilization. And like the sun, the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS is glorious and all powerful. Scorn the SON and, like the sun, He can burn you (Psa 2:12). Snub the SON and He can blind you (Gal 6:7). Salute the SON and He can bless you (Mal 4:2). The sun/ SON can be our friend or it can be our foe ( Exo 33:18 -23). The choice is ours (Jn 3:17-18). The reason our sun (like all stars) is so powerful and profitable to us as a human race is because it works off of fusion . In fusion the nuclei of two little hydrogen atoms combine (fuse) at temperatures approaching 50,000,000 degrees Celsius, to form a single, heavy helium nucleus, which in turn ejects high-speed neutrons in the process. The resulting atoms from the fusion weigh less than the ones that went into the process, and it is this difference in mass that is converted into energy. Because fusion , while it works nicely on the stars, requires temperatures higher than man can produce, man has opted to use fission instead of fusion for all his nuclear energy. In fission the nucleus of a big uranium atom is split (divided) into smaller parts when struck by a free neutron, which in turn releases more neutrons in a chain reaction. As in fusion , the resulting atoms from the fission weigh less than the ones that went into the process, and it is this difference in mass that is converted into power. The result: energy; also, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Chernobyl. The difference between fusion and fission is simple. Whereas fusion (God’s way of doing things) “puts things together” in order to produce energy, fission (man’s way of doing things) “tears things apart.” In life as in the lab, it is always better to produce clean and controllable energy by “putting things together” than dirty and dangerous energy by “tearing things apart.” Interestingly enough, there is only one source known to mankind that can produce clean and controllable energy –the sun/ SON OF GOD . NOTE - If the sun depicts the SON (and it does), then the moon must depict Christians, for the moon reflects the sun in the same manner that Christians are to reflect Jesus (Mt 5:14-16). And according to John 15:2, the more we reflect the SON , the better chance we have of seeing our own filthiness (the closer we are to the light, the dirtier we see ourselves). Interestingly enough, the only reason the moon is never full is because the “world” gets in its way... literally. 4:5 a According to the Bible, God will send His two witnesses (Elijah - II Ki 2:11 , and Enoch - Gen 5:24), to earth, to proclaim the Gospel to unbelieving Jews in Israel “before” the DAY OF THE LORD (Great Tribulation) begins. Which means: These two witnesses will preach during the first 3½ years of Daniel’s Seventieth Week. Then, in the middle (or, midst - Dan 9:27) of the week, the Antichrist will come to Jerusalem, stop the sacrifices, set himself up as God, and kill these two prophets (Rev 11:3-7). 4:5 b Officially, the DAY OF THE LORD is an extended period of time that begins with the onset of the Great Tribulation and
