Note - Hamon- gog is the valley in which Gog (the prince or ruler of Magog, i.e. Russia) shall die.
38:23 During the middle of the Seven-year Tribulation Period (when God miraculously defeats Russia) many nations (not all) will see their need for God. However, not until the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST will “all” the nations see their need for the Lord (Ezk 39:21). 39:2 Ezekiel 39 describes a second attack on Israel by Magog (Russia; the “north parts” – vs 2) just 3½ years after the first attack (Ezk 38:15). Only this time the invading armies from the “ north parts ” will be a mere 1/6th of what they were. NOTE –Why would anybody, after being defeated so soundly and devastatingly the first time (Ezk 38:15-23), want to go back for more? Why? Because God sends them back for more ( and will bring thee ), that’s why. Because people fail to properly react to the Word of God (Exo 5:1-2), their hearts become hardened. Thus God hardens their hearts and allows them to continue to make the same mistakes over and over again (Exo 7:13,14,22 & 8:15,19,32 & 9:7:12). 39:4 Every year, hundreds of thousands of raptors from Europe fly south over Israel on their way to winter homes in Africa. As many as 200,000 different kinds of “ ravenous birds ” will pass over Israel in four days. Because this tiny strip of land is on the main migration route to and from Africa, it is home to a disproportionately large number of birds. For the last ten years it has been reported that birds of prey ( feathered fowl – vs 17) have been multiplying in large numbers all over Israel, as if ready for a feast (Armageddon). NOTE – For the last ten years or so it has been reported that birds of prey ( feathered fowl – vs 17) have been multiplying in large numbers all over Israel, as if ready for a feast (Armageddon – Rev 14:14-20 & 19:17-21). So great will be the slaughter, that it will take seven years to burn all the weapons of war (vs 9) and seven months to bury the dead (vs 14).
